Dyan & Carlie | Freycinet National Park Elopement Film, Tasmania
Some love stories are written across landscapes — and this one unfolded on Tasmania’s breathtaking east coast. Dyan and Carlie invited me, a filmmaker based in Victoria, to join them on an intimate elopement adventure at Freycinet National Park. It was a deeply moving experience, both personally and creatively.
The day began at the Coastal Pavilions, tucked within the national park, where I filmed the couple getting ready in peaceful seclusion. Their ceremony took place on a pristine beach, surrounded by the towering pink granite mountains that make Freycinet so iconic. Joined by close family, the couple exchanged vows with the ocean lapping at their feet — a moment of pure connection and beauty.
From there, we boarded a seaplane and soared over the Tasman Sea to Schouten Island, a rugged, remote island off the coast of Tasmania. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we explored the rocky shorelines and untouched beaches, capturing the quiet magic of the moment. Our journey ended with a sea taxi ride back across the ocean — a fitting close to a day full of wonder and emotion.
Photographed by the incredible Jon Gazzignato, and crafted with care using live audio and original sound design, this elopement film is a tribute to wild love and the spirit of adventure.
