Bride Interview – Sheridan
We so excited to bring a new little feature to our Journal! We have started interviewing our gorgeous Brides and to kick off we have a ‘Bride Interview’ with the very gorgeous Sheridan.
We had such an awesome day with these guys! Beautiful people with hearts of gold, who made it a whole lot of fun to spend the day with them!
You can catch up on their film here: JOSH + SHERIDAN ‘true love’
When and how we met
We met through friends about 12 years ago and became friends though it wasn’t until years later that we spent more time together and fell in love
The Proposal: It was nice and low key and involved our dog Boston. I was getting ready for dinner on Lygon St and I heard my dog walk up to me with a sign around his neck saying will you marry me and then next minute there is there Josh on one knee. It was sweet and unexpected.
7th of April 2017
Ceremony & Reception Location
St Anne’s Winery in the courtyard
Planning was casual, I didn’t feel stressed or overwhelmed. We had approx. 1.5 years to organise it so took our time to perfect the day
Pronovias Orquidea Dress
The bridesmaid’s dresses
Seed Heritage & City Chic all white and lace
Any family or cultural traditions
We had a ribbon tying ceremony (like from Braveheart) which involved a pink ribbon being tied around our hands by Joshes Nan, it wasn’t traditional to our family but we wanted to make our own traditions on the day
Even though it was the most nerve racking part, I think walking down the aisle and seeing Josh after being apart from him for what felt like days was my favourite. Love is in the air with all of your most dear, that was definitely my favourite. Though making shapes on the dance floor all night is up there.
I really love timeless wedding so I decided on as much white as possible and lovely greenery to decorate. I wanted that classic, fresh look with hints of rose gold
Why did you choose to get a wedding film
We wanted to have someone who could be everywhere that we couldn’t. The day is so crazy and busy it was good to have someone there to get a full picture of the day. We are so glad we decided on getting one as looking back I’d be so devastated if we didn’t. I watch it often and it takes me back to the day
The best advice you were given
Just breathe and enjoy every moment- and I did
Funny stories (or near mishaps)
Just when I decided to walk down the aisle a crazy wind came and made my veil blow around and it got stuck in the wood on one of the steps, I pulled it out as nothing was stopping me from getting down that aisle, mind you I discovered later that I had torn my $350 veil
Words of wisdom
Treasure the journey as it all happens so quickly and ensure to get plenty of photos with family
We went back to Thailand for 3 weeks and spent days relaxing on a private beach on Phi Phi Island. It was so great to relax after a crazy few weeks.
All of the regular hens day/night activities with a gorgeous waterfront apartment and night out in Melbourne. I was also treated to a Bridal shower where my best friends and family drank bubbly and ate delicious high tea themed savouries and sweets.
